Mr. Timothy Mellor qualified in dentistry in Liverpool (1978) and medicine in Cardiff (1991); his higher surgical training was in the West Midlands (Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Stoke on Trent). Mr Mellor has also worked abroad in Holland, Hong Kong, and The USA. In 1999 he was appointed as Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth and St Mary's, Isle of Wight. Mr Mellor has previously been a Consultant in the RAF at Royal Hospital Haslar, Gosport 1996-1999.
His special clinical interests include head and neck cancer, facial skin cancer, salivary gland disease, micro vascular reconstructive surgery, laser surgery and cosmetic facial surgery.

Mr Mellor is married to Lin and has two grown-up children, Lucie and Hollie; outside work his interests surround his family and various sports, which include; football, cricket, golf, horse racing and motor racing. He has participated in all of these sports except horse racing, although he has a share in race horse ownership. He plays golf when he can and he's a member of MCC. He also has a Portsmouth Football Club season ticket , and looks after The Portsmouth Players if they suffer facial injuries.
